Professional Water Irrigation Ear Wax Removal Across the North Highlands

Water Irrigation Ear Wax Removal

At North Highland Ear Care, water irrigation is available as one of the treatment options for suitable patients.

Before any treatment is carried out, Eilidh will assess your ears to determine whether water irrigation is appropriate for your individual needs. Where suitable, the treatment uses water to gently remove ear wax from the ear canal, helping to restore clearer hearing and relieve the feeling of blocked ears.

With over 21 years of experience in adult healthcare and specialist training in safe ear wax removal, Eilidh provides professional, patient-focused care in a relaxed and reassuring environment.

What Is Water Irrigation?

Water irrigation is a method of ear wax removal that uses water to gently remove excess wax from the ear canal.

It can be an effective option for suitable patients with ear wax build-up. However, it is not appropriate for everyone, which is why an ear health assessment is carried out before treatment.

Following the assessment, Eilidh will explain whether water irrigation is suitable for you and discuss the treatment before proceeding.

How Does Water Irrigation Work?

Your appointment will begin with an assessment of your ears before any treatment is considered.

1. Ear Health Assessment

Your ears will be carefully examined using specialist equipment to assess the ear canal and identify any ear wax build-up.

2. Suitability Assessment

Eilidh will consider your individual needs and determine whether water irrigation is an appropriate method for removing the wax.

3. Water Irrigation Treatment

Where appropriate, water is used to gently remove the excess ear wax from the ear canal.

4. Aftercare Advice

Following your assessment or treatment, you’ll receive personalised ear care advice and a follow-up plan to help you look after your ears.

When Might Ear Wax Removal Be Helpful?

You may wish to arrange an ear health assessment if you are experiencing:

  • Blocked ears
  • Reduced hearing
  • Ear discomfort
  • A feeling of fullness
  • Noticeable ear wax build-up

If you’re unsure whether ear wax is responsible for your symptoms, an assessment can help determine whether removal is required.

Is Water Irrigation Suitable for You?

Water irrigation isn’t automatically suitable for every person. Your ears will always be assessed first so that the most appropriate treatment can be recommended.

If water irrigation isn’t considered suitable, another treatment option such as microsuction may be discussed where appropriate.

The aim is to ensure that your treatment is based on your individual ear health rather than using the same approach for everyone.

Individualised Ear Care

At North Highland Ear Care, treatment is never based on assumption.

Every appointment begins with an assessment so that Eilidh can understand your individual needs and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

Where water irrigation is suitable, the procedure will be explained before treatment begins. If another method is more appropriate, this will be discussed with you.

Our focus is always on providing safe, professional and personalised ear care.
